Amy Blend-Burak has turned her love and natural flair for decorating into her own business in association with Decor&You, the nation’s most exciting and fastest growing interior decorating franchise company. Amy earned her Degree in Computer Information Systems and over a period of some 20 years, has held positions as an Analyst/Programmer with such prestigious firms as Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NJ, IBM and AT&T. During that period, however, Amy also pursued decorating as an avocation, providing interior design and decorating guidance to family and friends. Of particular note was the complete interior decorating of her own home in New Jersey that was showcased in the DuPont Registry. Amy believes there is a need for focused and personal interaction between the client and the Decor&You decorator to achieve the kind of “it’s just what I wanted” outcome not offered by retail establishments or through the Internet. By working with her clients one-to-one in their own homes or offices, she helps them more clearly identify their functional needs and personal styles. Next, she develops for each client, an individualized “Decor Plan”, which serves as a guide towards achieving the desired look. Clients then purchase items according to the plan either all at once or step by step, and all within an agreed upon budget. As Amy likes to tell her clients, “You don’t need to start big, you just need to start.” Amy makes her home in central New Jersey with her husband, Stephen, and daughter Kelly Lynn. When not decorating, she enjoys traveling the world with her family, which allows her to experience different cultures and come up with new design ideas.
